Made me feel stupid in all the right ways. Had simply never known the extent of Jim Crow, nor how very recent it was. Explains a LOT about race relations in the US today to have it all laid out so plainly. Good companion to Between the World and Me (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1/190-9215313-3761505?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=the+world+and+me)
