Ok ok, Mars, a fun romp, Neal Stephenson's definition of sci-fi as smart people reacting to things in smart ways... all good. But also: When people ask what coding feels like, it feels like this. Everest-sized problems that are broken down into smaller bits and then smaller bits which are solvable, the recursive application of the same solving approach, and the satisfaction of Rube Goldberg way the solution unfolds. And occasional crazy problems from nowhere. So it's recognisable, I liked that
